Starting this year we will be publishing books on a variety of topics we are passionate about by talented authors. We sincerely hope you enjoy these great books!

The Land Between the Lakes is the largest inland peninsula in the United States. Over 170,000 acres, 300 miles of shoreline and 100 miles of walking trails are contained within the confines of a narrow strip of land between two man-made lakes on the border of Tennessee and Kentucky. It is a wild, sprawling, beautiful place, and a popular destination for campers, tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. It is also a land where legends abound. It is where native peoples hunted, and from which later settlers were forcibly displaced. A land of strangeness and unexplainable phenomena, which run across the spectrums of cryptozoology, hauntings, UFOs and more. A place where monsters roam. This idyllic stretch of untamed wilderness may well harbor a thing our ancestors held as a factual creature, but which we now relegate to the stuff of fiction - The Werewolf, or as many now call it, Dogman. Dogman sightings in the LBL have abounded for decades. From a notorious urban legend to modern day encounters, the Dogmen of The Lakes still lurk in the shadowed forests - at least, that is what many believe.

The little town of Kinderhook, New York is steeped in history. Near the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, it’s where Martin Van Buren, the eighth President of the United States, is buried. The town is also where Washington Irving wrote his early American classic The Sketch Book, which contained the stories The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle. You might think that Kinderhook residents would be used to spooky tales of headless horsemen, ghosts and fairies. But in the 1980s, the town became home for a new type of fright – the Kinderhook Creature, a bigfoot-type hominid that terrorized families and was reported all over the county and beyond.

The Kinderhook Creature and Beyond: A Personal Reminiscence is the story of those times, but the book also delves into the history of its author and his numerous paranormal and cryptozoological encounters, as well as those of his family and other residents of the Kinderhook area. Those encounters included such entities as the “Kinderhook Blob,” UFO sightings, ghosts, “little people” and much, much more. Included are photographs of footprints, drawings of the Kinderhook Creature by eyewitnesses and many more illustrations.

Bruce G. Hallenbeck is an author, actor and screenwriter whose films include Vampyre, Fangs and The Drowned, and whose many books on film history include The Hammer Frankenstein, Rock’n’Roll Monsters: the American International Story and Poe Pictures. He is also a cryptozoologist, having written Monsters of New York, co-written Monsters of New Jersey with Loren Coleman and co-written Monsters of the Northwoods with William Brann, Paul Bartholomew and Robert Bartholomew. Hallenbeck has also acted in such features as Shadow Tracker, Edge of Reality and Project D: Classified. He lives in upstate New York with his wife Rosa, four cats and several ghosts.

The Texas Dogman Triangle

Texas is a vast land of history and legend. For centuries the state has been saturated in folklore and mythology, and contains its fair share of ghosts, UFOs, conspiracies and buried treasure. It is also the home of monsters. For over 100 years Texas has played host to encounters with upright walking canines - werewolves, or as they are now often called, Dogmen. In 2021 a pattern seemed to emerge, giving rise to what some now call the Texas Dogman Triangle. Are these creatures real, or imaginative hysteria? Urban legend, or unidentified animal? Aaron is a San Antonio, Texas based author and researcher and the former Editor in Chief of Paranormality Magazine. When he’s not chasing werewolves he enjoys books, cartoons, video games, podcasting and nunchucks. Aaron lives with his wife Sara (with whom he hosts the podcast Hey Strangeness) and son Ezra along with way too many cats near the Alamo.

Michael Strayer is a childrens book author and podcaster from West Virginia. He writes fun books about strange creatures for young people and is also co-host on Mothboys which is a comedy podcast on all things weird. In his free time he goes on adventures and spends time with his family.
